A&M is an acoustic duo based out of the Columbus, Ohio area
whose members are Alisha Sheely and Michael Clark. A &M’s
music blends traditional, soulful rock-n-roll with the acoustic
foundation and tight harmonies of country music.
Michael is, literally, “a little bit rock-n-roll” of the duo. As a
graduate of the Ohio State University with a degree in bass
performance, Michael brings his expertise and bluesy rhythms to
A&M. Michael has been a songwriter since the tender age of 15.
His love of Power Pop music fuels much of his songwriting ideas
and led to many accomplishments as a writer including the
purchase of “Without You” by the Fox Television Network for
their show Undeclared. “Without You” was used in all of Fox’s
promotional advertisements for the show. Michael also composed
the theme song for the 2006 Wing Bowl Competition in Columbus
Ohio. Wing Bowl is sponsored every year by 1460 The Fan.
Born and raised in a small town, Alisha is definitely “a little bit
country” in the duo. Alisha combines her country upbringing with
her current city lifestyle to compose her original music. Singing
since she was three, Alisha’s passion for performance was ignited
at a young age. She began to sing professionally at the age of 13
and recorded her first CD at the age of 20. Her debut CD was titled
“Even the Angels Knew” and was released under the Indie label
Footwork Records. With the help of popular songwriters such as
Kathy Carlson-Hollingshead, Jim Melko, brother Jeff Bloomfield
and herself, Alisha’s album reached the top of the charts in Europe
and remained there for 6 months.
Alisha & Michael met in 2001 and have been singing and playing
together ever since. Their popularity increased as they began to
play locally in Columbus at small venues and clubs and will
continue to increase as they take their act regionally this summer to
tour dates as far north as Lake Erie and as far south as Cincinnati.
A&M has a sound fan base in central Ohio, they combine all genres
of music to create their own original sound and truly love what
they do – performing their music together. The industry is ready
for a new, fresh duo that will remind audiences of the days of
Sonny & Cher and Donnie & Marie but will bring the fresh
harmonies of today. A&M is just the duo for that.
